For
many years, Dr. John R. Carlson led a truly double life. He
maintained a full time private practice of dentistry and also
pursued a career in art. As his acceptance into the world
of art continued to grow, he realized he must make a choice.In
September 1991, he sold his practice to devote more time to
his true love- painting.
John
is a self-taught artist who began painting in July 1975. He
has exhibited in many regional and national exhibitions through
jury acceptance, where he has received immediate recognition
and awards.
A
few of the prestigious shows in which he has exhibited include
the following: Winter Park, Las Olas, Coconut Grove, Mount
Dora, Pensacola, Beaux Arts, Gasparilla and Ann Arbor.
John
Carlson paintings have won over 300 awards and have appeared
in numerous publications and periodicals.
"The
Old Flyer" was accepted into the Alabama Watercolor Society
Exhibition and John was included in
membership.
Accepted
as a member of the Knickerbocker Artists of New York.
"The
Best of People" was accepted into the American Watercolor
Society Exhibition in New York.

John
